About Rebecca
What is a Mommy Massage?

While being pregnant can be the one of the most joy-filled experiences of your life, it can also be a time where you find it difficult to get comfortable. Massage is one way to relieve those aches associated with pregnancy.

Rebecca’s massage for moms-to-be are a bit different than the other massages she gives. Since her tummy is getting larger each week, many moms-to-be are not comfortable lying on their stomachs during the massage.

As a result, Rebecca has the client lie on her side, with a pillow between her legs and under her neck, to keep the spine straight. Depending on the client, a pillow might also be positioned around her tummy. Rebecca then massages the back, leg and arm of the side that is “up” before having the mom-to-be switch to the other side. If she is comfortable, the client will lay on her back for a short period and get a neck massage and some stretching.

Moms-to-be get basically the same massage as they would if they weren’t pregnant, although Rebecca pays special attention to any areas that are particularly uncomfortable.

The massage oil Rebecca uses is perfectly safe for pregnant women and for babies. For essential oils, Rebecca only uses Gentle Baby, a therapeutic grade essential oil that reduces stretch marks and scar tissue. Gentle Baby essential oil is a mixture of geranium, roman chamomile, ylang ylang, rose, lavender, palmarosa, bergamot, jasmine, rosewood and lemon.

One hour massages are $85. Many of Rebecca's clients like to begin and end each Mommy Massage with a short Reiki treatment. This makes the massage 90 minutes and the fee is $125. To learn more about Reiki, click here.

Rebecca offers a frequent buyer program, allowing clients who get massages regularly to receive discounts.
